3D Printed Custom Orthotics

3D printing custom made orthotics enables lightweight devices to be designed and produced to an accuracy of 0.1 mm and the production process is naturally less wasteful than traditional techniques.

The fine degree of customisation and personalisation of 3D printed orthotics offer enhanced biomechanical precision and patient compliance.

The 3D printed structures also allows accurate intrinsic corrections and modifications to be added that was previously unachievable from  conventional manufacturing methods.

EVA Custom Orthotics.

EVA, or ethyl vinyl acetate, is a closed-cell material used for orthotic shells frame additions. The material comes in a variety of durometers or hardnesses based on Albert Ferdinand’s Shore A scale.

The prescribing process is simplified based on colour:

  • Shore A25 - Red (Softest)

  • Shore A35 - Beige

  • Shore A50 - Black

  • Shore A65 - Blue (Firmest)

Ossuto’s direct milled EVA custom-made orthotics are subtractive manufactured by CNC milling the contour of the orthotic shell directly from the block of prescribed EVA material.
